TROX has received the largest individual order to date from the US. TROX will deliver approx. 7,000 air-water systems in the years 2008 and 2009 for the refurbishment for the ten-story “Constitution Centers” in WashingtonDC. The equipment is manufactured in Germany and the UK. The 140,000 m² building, previously the headquarters of the US Ministry of Transport, will be completely redesigned inside and outside at a cost of 220 million US dollars. In replacing the air-conditioning system, the focus was on a future-oriented technology, which will be trend-setting with regard to energy consumption and comfort for quite a few years to come.

In the forefront of the contract award, the technical data of the equipment from a total of four competitors were determined in a test laboratory especially constructed for this in WashingtonDC. The test winner was the active chilled beam (DID 600) from TROX, which produced the best performance data of all the units tested.
